2014-2015 Engineering Society Referendum Question
In the SUO 2014/2015 by-election, held in Spring 2015, Faculty of Engineering students at UBC Okanagan were asked to vote on the referendum question. The following question was brought forward to the Students’ Union by students with a signed petition of 10% of the student body, reviewed by the Chief Returning Officer, and approved by the Board of Directors.
Effective for 2015/16 academic year, starting in September 2015.
The question reads as follows:
Do you support the establishment of a student society fee of $30.00 for each term one and term two with a total of $60.00 per academic year to be paid towards The Engineering Society at the University of British Columbia Okanagan?

Out of 849 registered Engineering Students, 182 students voted (21.4% of Engineering students)
- 122 students voted YES (67.03% of ballots)
- 44 students voted NO (24.18% of ballots)
- 13 spoiled (7.14% of ballots)
- 3 students refrained from voting (1.65% of ballots)
