DESCRIPTION:ABS is an association for Bangladeshi students at UBCO. Our mother tongue is Bengali or Bangla. We are the nation who sacrificed their lives to fight for our language on 21 February 1952 which later was declared as the International Mother Language Day. We plan to take an initiative where we will sit weekly on Saturdays and nurture our Bangla language skills and culture. We would like this event to be open to all who are interested to learn our sweet mother tongue Bangla. We would also like to extend this program for the Bangladeshi community in the Okanagan region. If anyone wants to learn the Bengali language\, they can join the classes. It will be open for the kids of our future generation as well.
