These fees can be found on Workday, under Your Top Apps section, then Finances apps then View Account Activity and then view your Transaction Summary.

In order to protect students’ privacy, UBC staff will only speak directly to the student, unless the student has already completed the Third Party Authorization process.

UBC Workday
Please note that UBC has switched to a new student system called Workday (September 2024), this has replaced the former student information system. UBC Workday includes Course schedule and registration, Grades, Awards, Tuition summary and payment, Exam schedule, Transcripts, Transfer credits, as well as your personal and contact information.

2026-2027 UBC Okanagan Student Fees
In British Columbia, public universities can require students to pay mandatory student fees in addition to tuition. The Province of BC expressly recognizes and regulates these fees through its Tuition Limit Policy. Depending on the university, mandatory fees commonly include:
- Student society fees
- health and dental plans
- U-PASS / transit fees
- Recreation and athletics fees
- Library fees
- Student services fees
- Building / capital levies
- Program, lab, technology, and field-trip fees
All of these categories are supported by official BC government policies and University Fee Schedules.
The policy further explains that public post-secondary institutions are responsible for setting, determining and collecting tuition and mandatory fees.
Under section 27.1 of the University Act, the University Student Society Fees Regulation, the following are prescribed programs and services:
“(b) health care benefit plans” and
“(c) dental care benefit plans” and
“(d) transportation programs;” and
“(e) advocacy activities;”
The Act also gives Student Societies authority to establish and approve certain student fees by referendum, with the University collecting those fees on the Society’s behalf. The University Act creates a legal framework allowing student societies to establish and fund such plans. Automatic enrollment is typically the result of a student society referendum and the plan’s governing rules, often with an opt-out process for eligible students.
Student fees include fees established by student referendum, and authorized by the UBC Board of Governors and fees established and authorized by student societies.
Student fees are charged to all students for the period of September 1 to August 31. Fees are calculated according to full-time or part-time status, academic session (Winter or Summer), and study level (Undergraduate or Graduate).
In addition to the student society fees listed below, please be advised that there are also Program, Course and Faculty Fees as well as Application and Administrative Fees.

Additional Student Fees established and approved by the UBC Board of Governors
Under section 27(2)(m) of the University Act, the UBC Board of Governors has authority to set, determine and collect the fees to be paid for instruction, research and all other activities in the university; for extramural instruction; for public lecturing, library fees, and laboratory fees; for examinations, degrees and certificates; for the use of any student or alumni organization in charge of student or alumni activities; and for the building and operation of a gymnasium or other athletic facilities.
The UBC Board of Governors has established and approved the following student fees under this authority:
– Athletics and Recreation Fee;
– iMED for new incoming international students (90 days);
– iMED for one-term exchange (130 days); and
– iMED for international research students
